IS THE BIRDSVILLE RACES ROADIES AN ORGANISED RALLY / BASH?

The Roadies is not a ‘rally’ in the true sense. Along with other benefits, organisers provide Roadies with the means and tools to connect with other Roadies via this site, and via the suggested route and town stays, so that you can travel in convoy just like a rally/bash. However, it is up to each and every Roadie to organise their own trip and itinerary, connect with other Roadies, organise the time of departure, etc. There will be no event organiser en route.

IS THERE BACK UP MECHANICAL SUPPORT LIKE A RALLY?
No, you are responsible for your own vehicle reliability and safety. But there is nothing like the safety in numbers that comes with travelling in convoy!
CAN I PARTICIPATE WITH MY PLANE, MOTORBIKE OR BUS?

Yes, all vehicles and modes of transport are welcome.

WHAT SHOULD I CALL MY TEAM NAME ON MY CAR DOOR STICKER AND WEB PROFILE?
Anything you like! You could be named after your favourite band, footy team, movie, or favourite number. All that we ask are the team names are inoffensive. So have some fun with your team name!
CAN WE THEME OUR VEHICLE AND DRESS UP OURSELVES?
Yes, we encourage you to have as much fun as possible. Get into the spirit of adventure and fun by theming up your car, entry name, and perhaps even clothing that you wear en route to match your theme! There will be prizes presented in Birdsville for the best themed entries.
I WANT TO BECOME A ROADIE, BUT I AM NOT OVERLY INTERESTED IN CONNECTING AND TRAVELLING IN CONVOY WITH OTHER ROADIES. IS THIS OK?

We understand some Roadies will want to ‘go their own way’. Roadies are of course welcome to arrange their own route – and that does not stop you from creating a profile and enjoying member benefits!

WHO DOES THE ROADIES SUPPORT?
Birdsville Races Roadies is an initiative of the Birdsville Race Club, which also supports the Royal Flying Doctor Service as the event charity.
